Zello Icon Library

The Zello icon library is a set of hundreds of icons I built in collaboration with Wil Nichols and shipped across every Zello platform. They scale from 8 to 48 pixels and extend into marketing collateral and print, holding one consistent look wherever they show up.

Tiny pictures, big opinions.

Drawn pixel by pixel

Most icons start as a sketch. From there I draw them in Figma, at different sizes and in three styles - outlined, color filled, and mono filled. I like to use metaphors and shapes from the illustration library which helps everything read as one system.

Wherever people need them

The icons live in our team's Figma library, where frontend devs pull them straight into the product. For the desktop app I made the asset swaps in the codebase myself, then opened a pull request with engineering. For everyone else, I set them up in Google Workspace and Canva, so sales and marketing can build their own slides and docs from the same set.
